Expert User Data Collection
An Expert User has volunteered to help give me greater sets of opinion data of my main heuristics so that I can greater expand my study. Here is how that will work, how it will improve my study, and how it will create more validity to my own opinion data.
Data Collection
I plan to send a script of sorts to Tyler in hopes he will be able to share his experiences with other website building tools without comparing it to WIX directly. This in turn will allow me to use this data as an expert input or at the least an expert evaluation of generic tools that are readily available on other sites. This paired with the way I am planning to test my data, will not be a user test so to speak, but will give me expert user feedback on topics that I am testing, so that I can compare what I find to what he has already found and experienced. I hope to send a very generic script to him (see below) and receive information as close to expert use as I can. Because after all, anyone who uses a product and can live to tell about it, is basically an expert user.
How This Fits
With this data it will eliminate some of the hazard warnings I was planning to put on the brunt of my data, (This is not comparative, this is opinion data) because I wasn’t able to give a good control opinion or control marker to test my own opinions against. This will give me that control to hold against my own assumptions and opinions so that I can basically just focus on my data and opinion data. This will greatly increase the flow of my report as well as the overall professionalism of my methods.
Test Script
Please answer the below questions as best you can in reference to the sites you have previously used, if at all possible say the site name if you are being specific to one blog.
1. If you could rate a site on its effectiveness, (“how fast an experienced user can accomplish tasks”) which site would you choose and why? Or if you have a general experience of good effectiveness, narrate that instead!
